Training Days

Each year we hold a range of training courses across the UK on our Finance, Donations and Membership Co-ordinator packages. All of our training has been designed to help you get the most out of your time by getting the most out of our software. Each course has been developed and improved over a number of years by listening to our customers and evaluating each training day.

Courses are delivered by qualified and experienced trainers, and run from 9am till 4pm with lunch and refreshments provided. Each attendee has access to the use of a laptop, giving you the opportunity to follow along with the trainers or simply watch the screen and take notes. Written materials are also provided for you to take home.

We currently hold courses in Wolverhampton, Edinburgh, York, Dartford, Watford, Winchester, Heathrow, and Leeds.

Other courses cost £165 Inc. VAT

However due to the current pandemic we are hosting free online training sessions in order to help churches and charities increase donations and get the most out of their use of MyGiving and MyFundAccounting. The dates, times and what’s included in each session is detailed below:

A comprehensive course for those who wish to take advantage of the additional donation opportunities and facilities available from MyGiving.Online. The items covered include setting up MyGiving.Online, adding purposes, methods, donors and adding users with relevant permissions. We will also be linking credit/debit cards and Direct Debit donations to your MyGiving account and creating a Donate Now button and adding it to a website. Importing from bank statements, setting up regular gifts and standing orders, producing donation reports, making online claims, recording and processing GASDS donations, audit trails for HMRC inspection, importing and exporting records.Being a cloud based application the MyGiving.Online training is run in a lecture style for three hours, including a break. Notes can be taken throughout the lecture and the trainers are happy to take questions throughout the session.

The items covered include setting up simple accounts including adding nominal codes, funds, bank accounts, starting balances and entering simple and memorised transactions. We also include entering template and regular transactions, multiple income and expenditure transactions, standing orders, importing from bank statement and post-box/agency accounts. Bank reconciliation, producing the SOFA, and report analysis. Setting up users with the relevant permissions is also included

This Finance Co-ordinator running course is designed for people who have already setup their accounts and want to start running Finance Co-ordinator on a day to day basis. The course covers entering template and regular transactions, multiple income and expenditure transactions, standing orders and post-box/agency accounts. Bank reconciliation, cost centres, year-end procedures, producing the SOFA, and report analysis.

Our Finance Co-ordinator Start-up course has been designed for people who want to start ‘from scratch’ and who may not be familiar with fund accounting or computerised accounts. It includes a brief overview of fund accounting and covers setting up simple accounts including adding nominal codes, funds, bank accounts, starting balances and entering simple and memorised transactions. Worked examples are provided as are sample exercises to complete throughout the day.

This course covers entering both people and family information, setting up groups and rotas, scheduling visits and creating skills and SmartFilters. Learn how to send text messages and emails from directly within Membership Co-ordinator. Produce varied and useful reports and export your data.

How should you handle petty cash?

Just some of the common questions that the treasurer can struggle with. The role of a treasurer can be an onerous and a difficult task and sometimes you can feel that there is nowhere to turn for an answer. The cost is £45 per person inc VAT

This 4 hour course run by Stephen Hendy and Helen Blundell aims to help answer these questions and others whilst also suggesting recommended financial controls and tips for best practice. These are all aimed at helping to manage the accounts well, easing the stress of the treasurer, helping control risks and can even help achieve good value for money.
