MyFoodBank.Online – Accepting Referrals

Inspired by firsthand volunteering experiences, we’ve harnessed the power of technology to create cutting-edge software tailored to the needs of foodbanks. This includes helping to simplify processes and minimise stress towards daily administrative tasks faced by foodbanks of all sizes.
One of these handy features includes accepting referrals to your foodbank. In this month’s article, we’ll be showing you how to manage your referrals using MyFoodBank.Online.

How it Works
- Before beginning, go to the MyFoodBank.Online website and log in via the homepage.
- On the dashboard, you’ll see a green bell icon at the top of the screen next to the suggestion box. This is where the notifications for new referrals will appear alongside other important notifications. When you have a new referral, a tiny red circle will show on it with a number inside. Click on the notification icon to bring up the list of notifications.
- To access the family record for the new referral, select the hyperlinked ‘Click’ on the relevant notification entry. On the Family Record screen, you can view all the necessary information about the new referral, including who referred them.
- On the Contact Details tab, there is a box in the bottom right corner labelled ‘Status’. When a new referral is waiting for approval, their status will be set to pending. Underneath this box will be a green button labelled Accept Family and a blue button labelled Reject Family.
- To approve the family, select Accept Family. A box will pop up asking if you want to accept this family. Click Yes to confirm.
- On the Family Record screen, if you navigate to the record you’ve just approved, you’ll now see the Status box has updated to Accepted. Additionally, the Accept Family and Reject Family buttons would have also been removed.
